The Treasure, by Uri Shulevitz, just might be my favorite Common Core text exemplar for second and third grades.
Students can choose a task card to complete alone, with a partner, or in a small group. Teachers can choose specific activities to assign to the whole group or to guide group discussions.
Just click on the pic above to download the cards. To see a list of all the Common Core text exemplar activities I have posted, click on the tab at the top of my blog page or click {HERE}.
Please leave me a treasure of a comment if you think you will use this or any of the text exemplar activities I have posted!
PS. Several of you have sent me messages asking to see my room. I'm planning on posting pictures the first of next week, so keep checking back.

I am not familiar with this book, is that bad? So I am super excited to check it out and even more excited that you shared a fabulous activity to accompany it. Thanks so much!!!

THANK YOU FOR THE FREEBIE. HOW DO YOU USE THE EXEMPLARS? DO YOU READ THEM ALOUD OR ALLOW THE CHILDREN TO READ THEM INDEPENDENTLY? PLEASE HELP, I NEED TO KNOW HOW TO USE THEM IN MY CLASS. HAVE YOU CREATED A UNIT TO GO ALONG WITH THESE BOOKS. THE FOLLOWING BOOKS ARE NOT PART OF MY SECOND GRADE LIBRARY. I HAD TO BORROW THEM FROM THE PUBLIC LIBRARY.
