We've been working on regrouping in addition. So far we have only regrouped ones, but this week we are adding tens to it.
I am giving my kiddos copies of these two cute addition and subtraction poems I found on Fun in Room 4B and on Living, Laughing, and Loving.
One of my Math stations this week is a turkey hunt for regrouping. I have hidden the turkeys with addition problems around the room. Students find the turkeys and record the problem on the record sheet. After finding the solution, they circle the problem if it involves regrouping.

ReplyDeleteLove the Addition Poem. I have just started addition with regrouping this week and have been looking for something to help my students. Thanks!!
ReplyDeleteThe addition poem was from Living, Laughing, and Loving. I wish I could claim it!

I can't wait to try the Turkey Hunt. We're working on the same concept. What an ingenious way to practice this skill!
ReplyDeleteMy kids are begging for more scavenger hunts! I added one for subtraction, too.
