Math Awareness Month Freebies!

Did you know that April is Math Awareness Month?
Me, either!

In celebration, I'm sharing some of my favorite Math posts from my blog....plus I've joined in with a few other teachers to put all of my math products  in my TpT Store on sale for April 1-2!
Click on the pic above for more sale info. Click HERE to go directly to my store.

Now for the oldies, but goodies! Click on each pic below for more info on your freebies!
My kids loved playing Last Man Standing. It's great practice for interpreting place value and is even better when the kids are ready to give the clues!

Simple, but effective! Based on the old Concentration games, Fraction Memory Match is perfect for a math station on equivalent fractions.

Rolling Perimeter is one of my newest freebies, but it's been popular so I wanted to be sure you didn't miss it. Simple, easy activity to practice perimeter.

Have a great Math Awareness Month!

Picture Pie -- Fractions

I decided we needed some hands on time with fractions since my kids are having trouble "seeing" that one half is the same as two-fourths and other equivalent fractions. I started looking for ideas and found Ed Emberly's Picture Pie, A Cut and Paste Drawing Book

The pictures in the book are so stinkin' cute that my kids wanted to make their own RIGHT THEN, no waiting!
Here's what they came up with. Each child added a post-it telling what fractions they used in their picture.

Cute, cute, cute!

Fraction Memory Match -- Freebie!

I remember leaving my third grade classroom when I was a little girl and walking to piano lessons (crying all the way), because I didn't understand fractions.  I don't want my own third graders to feel that way these many, many years later, so I'm doing all I can to make fractions fun and understandable for them. Click on the pic below to download a matching game.
Please leave a comment if you download!

If you are working on fractions and missed my earlier posts on fraction activities the first time around, here are links to three. Just click on the pics to go to the posts.

Happy Saturday!
