Multiplication Gimme Game Freebie

I believe that our kiddos MUST be fluent in multiplication and division facts, BUT I don't think every child will learn those facts through "drill and kill" rote memorization.

Once you've given them manipulatives and let them build arrays to help them truly understand multiplication and division, I think games are a fun way to help them develop the necessary fluency they will need to work higher-level problems.

This freebie is perfect for a fun way to develop fluency. Similar to Go Fish, your kiddos will try to be the first to get all four cards in a multiplication/division fact family.

Just click on the pic below to get your copy!

Jammin' with Multiplication and Division PLUS Sale and $25.00 TPT Gift Card Giveaway!

Here's a fun way to develop fluency in multiplication. Put this game in a math station. Your kids won't even know they are building fluency as they try to beat the clock and collect as many cards as they can. Instead of the typical drill on basic multiplication facts, students have to find the unknowns in equations, such as 4 x ? = 36.

Click on the pic below to get the freebie!

Click HERE to visit my TpT store and purchase the entire pack.

Don't forget the fabulous Back to School Sale going on at Teachers Pay Teachers! If you want the whole pack of ten games, plus one multiplication wheel worksheet activity, click HERE to visit my TPT store.

Valentine Divison Scoot -- Freebie!

Are you beginning to plan your Valentine-themed activities with your kiddos?

Here's a great activity to use as either a whole-class Scoot game or in a center for practice in using division to solve word problems.

If you use it as a Scoot game, put one problem card on different desks around the room. Students can work alone or with a partner to rotate through the cards. After they work one problem, they find the next card. For a little bit of fun, add a timer and give them five or six minutes at each card before they have to move on. Give students blank paper to use to record their answers.

If you have some students needing more practice working word problems, punch holes in the cards and put them on a ring. Place the cards in one of your math stations.

Just click on the link above to get your freebie!

It's a Number Hunt! - Freebie

If you need an activity for Halloween Day to keep your kids focused, yet still have a little bit of fun, try this number scavenger hunt. It gets the kiddos up and moving around the room. Hide the candy corn cards around the room, give your students the recording sheet (or have them make their own to save copies), and turn them loose!
Students must solve the problems and record them under the correct heading.

Multiplication and Division Practice -- Freebie

Cock-a-doodle-doo! Wake up and practice multiplication and division facts with these cute little roosters from KPMDoodles.
Common Core requires Third Grade students to relate multiplication and division and to solve these problems for unknowns in equations. It seems harder and harder each year to get the kids to realize they have to memorize these facts! I'm giving them lots of practice in our Math stations.
