Counting Picnic -- Freebie!

The ants come marching one by one!
Hurrah! Hurrah!

It's not one by one in this activity.
Your kiddos have to determine if the ants are marching by fives, by tens, or by hundreds.

And please, march on down below and leave me a comment!

Lighthouse Family: The Storm - Text Exemplar - Freebie

I love Cynthia Rylant and have several of her books, but I wasn't familiar with Lighthouse Family: The Storm. It's a great book to use as an introduction to chapter books. This freebie has a sheet for students to use for note taking on each chapter. When they have finished, they make a timeline on the story. This helps them see the progression of the plot from the beginning of the story to the last chapter. It also includes a sheet for a character study, including a section for using the illustrations to learn about the character. Students also determine the theme of the story and justify their thoughts.

Don't forget to comment so I'll know how you use the text exemplars in your class.

Money Matchups -- Freebie

I am so excited! Gingersnaps has added a set of money graphics to her Etsy shop and they are to die for!
I couldn't wait to make something with them. Be sure to go to her website and check out the cute game using her new graphics she uploaded for free! I'll be making money activities using them later this week.

Students will count coins and bills from $1.00 to $5.00. Click on the pic below to download.
