Robot Power! - Freebie!

We are working hard this year to refine our foundational skills in reading in our third grade classroom. Part of every reading class is spent on decoding words,  with an emphasis on multisyllabic words.
Here is a fun game to practice spelling words.
Students draw cards and spell the words. The goal is to have more cards than the other players when all the cards have been drawn. But be careful! Draw a robot and you have to put all your cards back!

Ahoy! Plurals! Freebie

Ahoy! Plurals!
Want a fun game to help your kiddos review plurals? Set a timer for ten minutes. Students draw a card. If they can write the plural form of the word, they get to keep the card. If not, the card goes back in the pile. If they draw an ARRGGGHH! card, they must put all their cards back in the pile. The winner has the most cards when the timer goes off.

Making Plurals by Adding S or ES -- Freebie!

Are any of you using Journeys as a basal this year? Our district adopted it and we are using some of the stories, but not all. I really like the selection on Roberto Clemente. It's great for introducing literal  and non-literal language. I've created a packet of activities based on the story for my TpT store.
Here is one of the activities from the packet you can have as a freebie.
It's a scavenger hunt. Post the plural words around the room and give your kiddos the recording sheet. They write the plural words under the correct heading and add the singular form.
I love giving my kids scavenger hunts and write the room activities. It's a great way to get them up and moving. I always tell them to be sneaky so they won't give away the location of the cards to anyone else.

Have a happy first week of Fall!

S'More Long Vowel Practice Freebie

One of my favorite parts about the rehearsal dinner party I gave for my sweet niece, Megan, and her just as sweet now-husband Casey, was the S'More bar. Ummm...Ummm...Good!

I'm sharing the goodness with you with this freebie on spelling long a and long e words.
Most of the words are multisyllable words, so that's good practice for your kiddos!
Dont forget to enter my giveaway. I'm giving two lucky winners a copy of everything in my TpT Store and lots of my other online friends have contributed some unbelievable products, too.
