Here's another activity for math stations for a little more practice in determining if numbers are even or odd.
My kiddos are pretty good at looking at a number and telling me if it is odd or even, but writing an explanation is hard for them. I think I'm going to write a number on the board every day right after Calendar Math and get them to draw the number, write an expression, and give an explanation for whether the number is even or odd.

Totally agree...students usually have trouble with the reason for something, so your strategy will be perfect. Thanks for sharing yet another wonderful idea!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Suzy Q! I'll be posting practice, daily grade work, and a common Assessment for even and odd numbers later this week, so keep checking back.
